In surprising news, the SUMMER OF SAM director is currently
in talks to helm the long-rumored Hollywood remake of Park Chan-Wook’s
OLDBOY.
According to Twitch, Lee is now in discussions for the OLDBOY directing gig. Rumors of a U.S. redux of the Chan-Wook revenge classic first surfaced back in 2008 with Steven Spielberg and Will Smith considering the project. The film is set up at Mandate with Doug Davison and Roy Lee producing from a script by I AM LEGEND’s Mark Protosevich.
