No, AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON director John Landis isn’t
reviving another classic creature; it’s Landis’ son Max (pictured), who wrote
his dad’s MASTERS OF HORROR episode DEER WOMAN and the much-buzzed-about script
CHRONICLE, who’s taking a bash at the mad-science standard.
Variety reports that the younger Landis is penning a new take on FRANKENSTEIN for Davis Entertainment and 20th Century Fox. His specific approach to Mary Shelley’s classic tale is being kept under wraps, not surprising considering the other Frank films in the works at rival studios (including the version Guillermo del Toro still hopes to make at Universal). A director has yet to be named, though BOURNE-master Paul Greengrass and HARRY POTTER regular David Yates are said to be in the running.
