Sadly, the pilot for LOCKE & KEY (based on Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez's much praised comic) wasn't picked up, but lucky folks attending this summer's San Diego Comic-Con will get a chance to see what could've been.
Deadline is reporting that publisher IDW, with approval from 20th Century Fox, is bringing the episode to San Diego for a special screening, to be followed by a panel that includes Hill, Rodriguez, writer/executive producer Josh Friedman and executive producers Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman.
The screening gets underway Friday, July 22 at 10:30 am in Room 8 of the Convention Center, with the panel taking place next door in Room 9 directly after. This is no doubt a fairly rare and exciting opportunity, especially considering Mark Romanek (ONE HOUR PHOTO, NEVER LET ME GO) helmed the episode.
LOCKE & KEY tells the story of Nina Locke and her three children, Tyler, Kinsey and Bode who, after the murder of Nina’s husband Rendell Locke, return to Keyhouse, his old family home in Massachusetts. There, they’re menaced by an evil entity named Dodge that’s determined to hold the family hostage until it gets what it wants.
