The South’s gonna rise again this July as 2001 MANIACS: FIELD OF SCREAMS, Tim Sullivan’s sequel to his previous Herschell Gordon Lewis homage starring Fango fave Bill Moseley, hits DVD and Blu-ray. The director has revealed the date and provided a look at the cover art as well.
Sullivan announced via Facebook that his movie will be released by First Look July 20. It’ll be out in three different editions: R and unrated DVD (each retail priced at $24.98) and Blu-ray (price unannounced as of now). The rated version runs 82 minutes and the uncut one’s 86, so it sounds like there’s plenty of extra gory goodness in the latter. Moseley takes over for the previous film’s Robert Englund as Mayor Buckman in FIELD OF SCREAMS, which sees the Pleasant Valley folks hitting the road and bloodily colliding with a reality-show crew. It has its North American premiere April 29 at the Texas Frightmare Film Festival; check out the movie’s Facebook page here, and look for lots more coverage at this site and in the pages of FANGORIA magazine as the release draws nearer.
