At the recent Saturday Nightmares event in New Jersey, Fango got the chance to speak with actress Adrienne Barbeau about a couple of her latest projects. One of them is the novel LOVE BITES, a sequel to her 2009 book VAMPYRES OF HOLLYWOOD.

“That will be published, I believe, in late August or early September or late August,” by Thomas Dunne Books, Barbeau tells us. She adds that as opposed to VAMPYRES, which she penned with Michael Scott, “I wrote this one solo, and I had a good time with it. I wanted to call it FRIENDS FOR DINNER, but that was a little too subtle,” she laughs.

As for the plot, she says, “Anyone who’s read VAMPYRES OF HOLLYWOOD will know the characters; it takes place just a couple of weeks after that book left off. I guess you could say it’s a ménage a trois that involves Oksana, our 500-year-old scream-queen actress, and Peter King, the Beverly Hills detective who was trying to figure out who was trying to kill Oksana in the first one.”

Barbeau also recently starred in a short horror film called ALICE JACOBS IS DEAD; look for her comments on that very soon!
