Independent filmmaker Anthony Sumner sent along some info and a batch of exclusive photos from his recently completed feature SLICES OF LIFE. Having previously helmed a number of genre shorts, including segments of the upcoming anthology GALLERY OF FEAR, Sumner reteamed with several GALLERY alumni for this project, which is also made up of multiple segments.

The framing story finds Mira (Kaylee Williams, pictured below)) waking up in front of a rundown motel with no memory of who she is or how she got there. Discovering three sketchbooks, she reads through them seeking clues to her identity, and their contents are dramatized in short terror tales:

WORK LIFE: A lowly clerk at a nanotechnology firm unleashes a deadly virus at the office headquarters, giving new meaning to the term corporate zombie.

HOME LIFE: As local girls begin to disappear, a young pregnant woman is haunted by visions of evil demonic children hellbent on stealing her unborn fetus.

SEX LIFE: A young brother and sister, on the run from a sexually abusive home life, take refuge in a countryside Victorian manor—only to discover that monsters hidden in this house have also been looking for a new home.

The first segment, under the title W.O.R.M., has already played separately at festivals and won awards. The overall feature is in the final stages of postproduction, with Gene Hodsdon’s score and Sean Sutton’s 5.1 stereo mix being wrapped up. Scripted by Sumner, Eric Richter and Alan Rowe Kelly, who also acts in the movie, SLICES OF LIFE also features Deneen Melody, Galen Schloming, Jack Guasta, Ivory Tiffin, Toya Turner, Jamia Vinci, Marv Blauvelt, Helene Alter-Dyche, Judith Lesser and Thurston Hill, with creature FX by BLOOD NIGHT’s Jeremy Selenfriend.
