Universal Studios Home Entertainment sent along full details on its DVD and Blu-ray releases of THE WOLFMAN, director Joe Johnston’s reinvention of the classic monster movie starring Benicio Del Toro and Anthony Hopkins. We got ahold of cover art for both versions as well.
The movie will be released on both formats as well as for digital download June 1, and the discs will each contain both the 103-minute theatrical version and a 119-minute unrated director’s cut. Each will be presented in anamorphic 1.85:1 widescreen, with Dolby Digital 5.1 and DVS DD 2.0 soundtracks on the DVD and DTS-HD Master 5.1 and DVS DD 2.0 audio on the Blu-ray. Special features on both discs include deleted and extended scenes, with a whole bunch more exclusive to the Blu-ray:
· Extra content via BD-Live, pocket BLU app and UniversalHiDef.com, including the first ever on-line streaming of the 1941 THE WOLF MAN
· “Take Control” visual commentary on select scenes with Baker, visual FX producer Karen Murphy-Mundell and director of photography Shelly Johnson
· Two alternate endings not seen in theaters
