The National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA), which has been responsible for merchandising such top horror franchises as HALLOWEEN, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, FRIDAY THE 13TH, THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and SAW, has teamed with film production/distribution outfit Wrekin Hill Entertainment for joint release of feature films in theaters and DVD/VOD. The latter will go out via the new Underhill Films banner, and they’ve already got a fright feature on their schedule.

FADING OF THE CRIES (pictured), the fantasy/horror movie by writer/director Brian A. Metcalf, is one of the first acquisitions for Underhill, which has distribution deals with Lionsgate in the U.S. and eOne in Canada. The film, which we previously reported on here, stars Brad Dourif as a villain named Mathias who terrorizes a small town while seeking an ancient necklace, and is confronted by a heroic youth named Jacob (Jordan Matthews) and his magic sword.
