No, Universal didn’t announce that JURASSIC PARK IV is going into production. However, there is going to be a new adventure in the dinosaur saga. In June, IDW will be launching a new comics series based on the franchise, starting with a five-issue story arc titled JURASSIC PARK: REDEMPTION.

IDW announced that REDEMPTION takes place 13 years after the first JURASSIC PARK film. John Hammond’s grandchildren, Tim and Lex Murphy, are now young adults. Lex is working with the UN to keep people off both Isla Nublar and Isla Soma, but her brother has other ideas about how to restore their grandfather’s good name. IDW Senior Editor Bob Schreck wrote the series, Nate Van Dyke provided the interior art and each issue will feature a cover by Tom Yeates and a variant by another major artist. SIN CITY’s Frank Miller did the variant for the first issue (see below), and Arthur Adams, Paul Pope, CYCLE OF THE WEREWOLF’s Bernie Wrightson and RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD zombie designer/dinosaur fan Bill Stout will follow.

Additionally, IDW will also be reprinting all of the original Topps JURASSIC PARK comics in a trade paperback collection.
