Yesterday, FANGORIA scooped the world with the news that Image Entertainment has acquired the Butcher Brothers’ horror/sci-fi flick THE VIOLENT KIND (see story here), an item shamelessly lifted from Fangoria.com by a few other major genre websites. Anyway, below the jump you can read a comment from Mitchell Altieri, one half of the Butchers, on the film’s March 2011 release.

“We are very excited to be working with Image Entertainment!” says Altieri, who wrote and directed THE VIOLENT KIND with partner Phil Flores. “They are big fans of the movie and acquired it some time ago, but we wanted to finish up its great festival run—which included a handful of European cities and Anchorage International—before we turned our focus on its release in 2011.”
