Having dominated the Halloween box office this year, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 has set a date to spook home viewers. It’s coming on Blu-ray and DVD with footage not seen in theaters.

Paramount Home Entertainment releases the sequel, directed by Tod Williams, in a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack and standard DVD February 8. PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 2 is actually largely a prequel, taking place in the home of Kristi (Sprague Grayden), sister of original heroine Katie (Katie Featherston), who is terrorized along with her family by the same malevolent spirit that plagued Katie and Micah (Micah Sloat) in the original, as viewed through their home’s security cameras. Both the Blu-ray/DVD combo and the standard DVD will offer the original theatrical cut as well as an unrated version with additional scenes; the Blu-ray presents the movie in 1080p high-definition widescreen with DTS-HD Master Audio, while the DVD transfer is 16x9-enhanced widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. The combo pack also comes with a digital copy of the unrated version, and both editions include “Found Footage” and the teaser trailer; retail prices are $29.99 for the combo and $19.99 for the standard DVD. There will also be rental DVD and Blu-ray editions with the theatrical version only.
