According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sigourney Weaver has joined the cast of VAMPS, a bloodsucker comedy to be directed by Amy Heckerling. The actress beloved by genre fans for the ALIEN movies will play Ciccerus, a vampire queen.
In the film, which Heckerling scripted, Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter play two young women whom Ciccerus has transformed into creatures of the night. When the pair set out to enjoy the nightlife of New York City, each falls in love and has to make a choice that could jeopardize their immortality. The movie is set to roll next month for Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Films and Lucky Monkey Pictures.
