Indie producer/actor Joe Zaso sent along the skinny on the DVD release for his new sci-fi chiller BRAINCELL, and also revealed that he’ll be handling the domestic distribution on the German shocker GAME OVER.

In BRAINCELL, Zaso plays Dr. Joseph Cornwall, a scientist at a Liverpool college where his niece Hannah (Raine Brown) comes to visit and discovers he’s up to some seriously nasty experiments. Eileen Daly, Billy Garberina and Eleanor James co-star; Alex Birrell directed from a script he wrote with Iacopo di Girolamo. The DVD comes out April 20 from Zaso’s Cinema Images company (whose official website relaunches soon), and presents the movie in anamorphic 1.77:1 widescreen. The extras are:

• Slideshow

• Trailers

Retail price will be $14.99 including shipping, though you can pre-order the disc for a discount price and get a bonus at this weekend’s Monster-Mania convention in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, where Zaso and Brown will be appearing.

GAME OVER, written and directed by Timo Rose of BARRICADE and BEAST, also stars Brown along with Fango fave Debbie Rochon, Nicola Fiore, Manoush, fellow Teutonic goremeister Andreas Schnaas and Rose himself in the gore-strewn story of three American girls in Germany who are kidnapped and tortured by a maniac.
