Mike Mendez, director of the Fango-fave films THE CONVENT and THE GRAVEDANCERS, got in touch to let us know about his latest project, an over-the-top feature titled OV3RK1LL. Jump past the jump for the skinny and to watch Mendez’s promotional trailer.

“This is a script I collaborated on with David Rosiak,” Mendez tells Fango. “It’s sort of THE RUNNING MAN meets BATTLE ROYALE with the slashers of the ’80s by way of CRANK. The trailer is made up of test footage I shot with some friends over a weekend to see if the mood and style was working and to help secure the budget for the film. I’m happy to say it’s all coming together very nicely; we’re just finishing up the last bit of financing and we expect to be shooting before the end of the year. It’s going to be a bloody good time!”

Although Mendez landed genre vet Ray Wise (pictured) for the promo, “No cast is officially locked in” for the feature, according to Mendez, who promises to keep Fango posted as the ensemble comes together. Stay tuned for OV3RK1LL updates as they come in!
