Konami Digital Entertainment is returning to the strange world of Silent Hill with plans to release the eighth installment in the popular franchise. The video game will be another third-person experience, with an all-new storyline that you can read about after the jump. 

Shock Till You Drop offered these details on the game:

“The survival horror experience begins after a prison transport vehicle careens off the road, leaving lone inmate Murphy Pendleton stranded in Silent Hill. Gamers will encounter mind-bending puzzles, as well as horrific creatures and other world terrors using everyday objects from wooden chairs to glass bottles to fend off their enemies.”

Look for SILENT HILL 8 on the XBox 360 and Playstation 3 next year.
