Sir Sean Connery is coming out of retirement to join the Showtime series. He’ll be playing Dexter’s grandfather… OK, that’s B.S. The casting news is really pretty minor, but it is news: a lesser-known actor than Sir Sean has been hired for a recurring role, joining Season Five’s new cast members Julia Stiles, Maria Doyle Kennedy and Shawn Hatosy. 

Dread Central reports that April Lee Hernandez has landed a recurring role on DEXTER‘s upcoming season. The actress had a supporting role in FREEDOM WRITERS and has a number of TV series on her résumé, including ER. She’ll play a new cop who works in Miami Metro’s homicide department.
