Film4 FrightFest 2010 is getting ready to shock the UK, running Thursday-Monday, August 26-30 at London’s Empire Cinema in Leicester Square. And the organizers just sent along word that two of the year’s most anticipated fright features will be part of the fun, along with their creators.

Adam Green’s HATCHET 2 will have its world premiere as the fest’s opening-night feature, with writer/director Green in attendance along with cast members including Kane Hodder, Danielle Harris and Tony Todd. “[This] is really a homecoming for my monster Victor Crowley and I,” Green says. “It’s important to me that the first audience to see this should be the very audience that breathed life into HATCHET and turned it into a franchise. While the first film was a love letter to the films I grew up on, this film is my love letter to the fans—the original ‘HATCHET Army.’ ”

Closing the FrightFest will be the international premiere of the vérité possession picture THE LAST EXORCISM, hosted by director Daniel Stamm and producer Eli Roth. Although the latter’s HOSTEL and CABIN FEVER have been showcased at past FrightFests, this will be Roth’s first time accompanying one of his films. “Finally, I get to attend FrightFest in person,” he says. “It’s a festival I have always admired and supported from afar, and I can’t think of a better place for THE LAST EXORCISM to make its UK debut.”
