Gold Circle Films hasn't even gotten rolling on THE HAUNTING IN GEORGIA, its follow-up to the box-office hit THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT, but it's already developing a third film in the franchise. And this time, the ghosts are going to Gotham.
Variety reports that Sean Hood (pictured) has be signed to write THE HAUNTING IN NEW YORK for the company. Like its two counterparts, the film will be based on a true story, but what exactly that story is has not been revealed; like GEORGIA, it will have no story or character connections to CONNECTICUT. Paul Brooks will produce, as he's doing on GEORGIA, which begins shooting in August under the direction of CONNECTICUT editor Tom Elkins, from a David Coggeshall script. Hood, who wrote MASTERS OF HORROR's SICK GIRL and Marcus Nispel's upcoming CONAN reboot, has plenty of experience with franchise features: He worked on the scripts for HALLOWEEN: RESURRECTION, CUBE 2: HYPERCUBE and THE CROW: WICKED PRAYER. He has also adapted Alice Blanchard's serial-killer novel THE BREATHTAKER for John Wells Productions.
