The remake of FRIGHT NIGHT has begun to take a much clearer shape this week with the revealing details of its Las Vegas setting and Criss Angel inspiration for the modern Peter Vincent. Now, that character and the infamous Evil Ed have been cast, check out who's playing them below!
The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision Blog reports that David Tennant of DOCTOR WHO fame will be essaying the magician role of Vincent and SUPERBAD's Christopher Mintz-Plasse will take on Evil Ed.
I was on the road to being optimistic for this film, but the Criss Angel angle (unless of course it's a satirical take on that bullshit artist) definitely rubs me the wrong way. Plasse showed a little bit of chops in KICK-ASS, so he may be able to pull off a different kind of nerd, one that's completely unlovable, but I'm not entirely sure.
Craig Gillepsie (LARS AND THE REAL GIRL) is directing, let's hope he has an interesting take.
