Production began today in Atlanta for AMC’s adaptation of the Robert Kirkman comic THE WALKING DEAD. The six-episode first season—written, produced and directed by THE MIST’s Frank Darabont—follows a group of survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes, traveling in search of a safe and secure home after a zombie apocalypse. And today, AMC released eight pictures of KNB EFX’s zombie makeup.

KNB is no stranger to creating the undead, having worked on George A. Romero’s LAND OF THE DEAD and DIARY OF THE DEAD. They also collaborated with Darabont on THE MIST, and you can see their latest work in SPLICE (opening this Friday and the cover of FANGO #294) and PREDATORS.
