We previously told you here about BEHIND THE WALLS, a supernatural thriller that reps France’s first entry in the current 3-D boom. Now word has come down that its leading lady has been cast.
Variety reports that Laetitia Casta (pictured) will star in the film, which is set in 1922 and concerns a young novelist who moves to a rural house to work on a new book and becomes plagued by frightening visions. Popular model/actress Casta recently won raves for her performance as Brigitte Bardot in the fantasy-tinged biopic GAINSBOURG, JE T’AIME, a.k.a. GAINSBOURG (VIE HÉROIQUE), in which she appears opposite Doug Jones and MARTYRS’ Mylène Jampanoï. Feature first-timers Pascal Sid and Julien Lacombe will direct the $5-million WALLS, which is being produced by genre-centric company Studio Mad and is set for release in early 2011.
