UPDATED: Landis has chimed in, stating that Dimension is "In negotiations" to purchase the remake rights, but the deal is not yet sealed.It's been talked about and rumored for years, and now it appears that an American werewolf will be howling once more.
Dimension Films, currently getting ready to release Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN II, and also developing the on-again-off-again remake of HELLRAISER, will be going ahead with a remake of John Landis' AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (pictured left on the cover of FANGORIA #14) according to a reliable tipster who revealed the news over at Bloody-Disgusting.
It's still rumored that the Blu-ray edition of Landis' groundbreaking 1981 film will arrive this fall, complete with Paul Davis' feature-length doc, BEWARE THE MOON: REMEMBERING AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON.

I can't believe theyir making a re-make, what a stupid idea, even worse the making American werewolf in Paris.
Here's an idea why not make a prequel, that would be much better.

i blame landis for this...he had the rights to the film and could have just kept them and not made a remake but no he had to sale them guarenteeing a remake...and whats worse he sold the rights to some of the worst people imaginable...the damn Weinsteins

Wake up everyone!
Not until the public collectively speaks out and consistently hurts these films in the pockets of their producers will we actually see some originality again.
