Variety reports that Charisma Carpenter (pictured) of TV’s BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and ANGEL will star in the psychological horror film VIVID. The debut production from new British genre specialist Red Sparrow, it’s set to shoot shortly on London and Somerset locations.
Carpenter plays a New York writer who moves to a manor house in rural England and has to deal with not only the unfriendly residents, but frightening visions of bloodshed in her new home. Reg Traviss scripted and will direct, and the cast also includes Ricci Harnett, former Darkness frontman Justin Hawkins and Sean Chapman (Frank Cotton in the first two HELLRAISER movies). Other Red Sparrow fright flicks in the works include John Landis’ Chinese-vampires-in-the-Old-West opus BONE ORCHARD; the intriguingly titled COCKNEYS VERSUS ZOMBIES, to be helmed by Matthias Hoene of Hammer’s on-line series BEYOND THE RAVE; JERICHO, with JASON X’s Jim Isaac directing from Matthew Presley’s script about a group of friends with extraordinary abilities fighting an evil spirit threatening their town; and Jeremy Wooding’s DROP DEAD GORGEOUS, a multimedia slasher project set during a fashion shoot.
