Final TRICK ’R TREAT DVD and Blu-ray details

News - DVD & Blu-Ray

TRICKRTREATFINALDISCTHUMBWarner Home Video has issued final specs and cover art for its DVD and Blu-ray releases of the much-awaited TRICK ’R TREAT, which writer/director Michael Dougherty first discussed with us here. The discs, which street October 6, will present the movie in both fullscreen and 16x9-enhanced 2.4:1 widescreen.

The only special feature on the DVD will be SEASON’S GREETINGS, Dougherty’s animated short that introduced the Sam character who recurs throughout TRICK, with optional commentary by the filmmaker. The Blu-ray, however, will be fully loaded with GREETINGS and a digital copy of the movie, plus:
  • Feature commentary by Dougherty

I am sickened with how the WB has continuedto treat the fans. All the good stuff on the Blu-ray?!. DVD is still the leading choice by most, and fans who have been supporting this movie for 2 years continue to get the big middle finger from the WB, who I have noticed are the most pushy(bullying?)when it comes to Blu-ray. I will NOT be buying this and I am no longer interested in WB product. It's a shame. I hadn't been this excited for a movie in a long time, but enough is enough!.

Well this is a great Halloween present. I wish the film had been given a better release. But I am still so happy to get to see it. About time! They should really release Halloween films at Halloween. Looking forward to this. Let's all support this movie.

please buy the movie. since horror "exploded" on the scene in 1978 with halloween and phantasm, trick r treat is a top 10 movie in the last 31 years, and we need to show that to the director, mike dougherty.

warner does not care what we think, or they would have given it a theater run. and, at least they heard our cry and are releasing it.

Warner sure know how to tee people off, this time the film makers with a lossy sound on the blu ray. No HD sound is a poor show, then again knowing the pathetic studio politics behind this fresh and imaginative film's shoddy treatment, it should come as little surprise.

Suffice to say, Those responsible for their less than human behaviour toward it will have egg of their faces upon it's successful release to home video.

A would buy a DVD copy, as I have not taken the leap into Blu-ray land yet, if all the extras were included on it as well. Instead I will do what many others are doing - I will download it, and buy it a reduced cost a few months after it is released, or pick it up at a pawn shop. Wen will it be understood that we the viewers have the potential to be in complete control of how movies are released?

XB Not sure if I should buy it or not. I want to support the film, but don't want to support WB for their treatment of this film.

"Hey we still made a mint off of this movie even without releasing to theatres...we'll just keep doing that with original horror material"

What a bunch of a**hole suits!!! :flame:

I'm getting frustrated with this awesome horror movies being released and all the special features getting put strictly on blu-ray, i plan to get 1 eventually but money is kind of an issue lately around here, looks like i won't get to see special features of yet another title, still excited it's being released though.
