NIGHTMARE CASTLEAt the height of her career as the dark goddess of Italian horror, the legendary Barbara Steele (BLACK SUNDAY) delivered two of her most memorable performances in this tale of obsession, madness and depravity. ROUGH CUTWould you kill to make a movie? The scary thing is, two independent filmmakers did.
In January 2003 a woman was found beaten, strangled, and stabbed in her Pennsylvania home. 8 months earlier, an independent horror film was shot on the nearby Appalachian Trail.
Rough Cut is a feature length documentary that explores the twisted true tale of two first-time filmmakers who had a dream of making a horror movie and the bizarre events that followed.
SACRED FLESHControversial director and Redemption Films founder, Nigel Wingrove (Visions of Ecstasy, Satanic Sluts I, II & III), the vanguard of the fight against British censorship, brings you an unholy slice of sexploitation with this contemporary nun-fest, Sacred Flesh!
Starring scream queen Eileen Daly (Razor Blade Smile), Sacred Flesh toils with themes of repressed sexuality and sin, as the Mother Superior of a medieval convent is tormented by lust and torn on her vows of chastity. Taunted by visions of Mary Magdalene, who reveals the confessions of the younger nuns at the convent, the Mother Superior's mind is filled with the violent, sexual acts of her fellow sisters masturbating, embroiled in steamy lesbian encounters, molested by priests and even kidnapping and crucifying a rival nun!
SKULL & BONESGay sex buddies Nathan and Justin are united by their fierce and undying passion for slasher, vigilante, zombie, and serial killer films. Bored with their mundane existence as students at an obscure college in impoverished New Haven, Connecticut, they decide to teach their stuck-up classmate, Andy, a lesson by befriending and then raping him. However, when their drug-fuelled plans go awry and Andy dies, they get further turned on and decide to pay a visit to nearby elite Ivy University to wreak even more havoc and terror.
Hoping to extort money from an Ivy League jock, they plot to lure one home and photograph him having sex with them. Alighting at the local Ivy bar, they come across four promising Ivies who gloat about their future plans to become world leaders: they have been tapped to join the exclusive secret Ivy society known as Skull and Bones - just like George W. Bush.
As the Ivies continue to belittle Nathan and Justin for being total losers, humiliation is now added to their rage. The resentful duo cunningly plots to kidnap the Ivies one by one. What follows is a harrowing tale of bloody "HOMO-cidal" mania leading to a climactic ending that's certain to startle and shock even the sickest horror fans!

THE MACHINISTAmazon.com's Jeff Shannon says:
"As a bleak and chilling mood piece, The Machinist gets under your skin and stays there. Christian Bale threw himself into the title role with such devotion that he shed an alarming 63 pounds to play Trevor Reznik (talk about "starving artist"!), a factory worker who hasn't slept in a year. He's haunted by some mysterious occurrence that turned him into a paranoid husk, sleepwalking a fine line between harsh reality and nightmare fantasy--a state of mind that leaves him looking disturbingly gaunt and skeletal in appearance. (It's no exaggeration to say that Bale resembles a Holocaust survivor from vintage Nazi-camp liberation newsreels.) In a cinematic territory far removed from his 1998 romantic comedy Next Stop Wonderland, director Brad Anderson orchestrates a grimy, nocturnal world of washed-out blues and grays, as Trevor struggles to assemble the clues of his psychological conundrum. With a friendly hooker (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and airport waitress (Aitana Sánchez-Gijón) as his only stable links to sanity, Trevor reaches critical mass and seems ready to implode just as The Machinist reveals its secrets. For those who don't mind a trip to hell with a theremin-laced soundtrack, The Machinist seems primed for long-term status as a cult thriller on the edge."

TRUE BLOOD: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASONAmazon.com's Trinie Dalton says:
"Alan Ball’s True Blood series works well for television, as it has enough sensationalism to tantalize and enough story girth to make the viewer care about the characters. That one can finally invest emotion into monsters, including an undead Civil War victim, a transformer who can shapeshift into various animals, and a female mind reader, speaks volumes about America’s willingness to accept fantasy. Of course, television has always produced good fantasy shows (I Dream of Genie), but True Blood’s Southern Goth brand of fun horror is more macabre and more perverse, not to mention gorier, than most shows of its kind to date. Adapted from Charlaine Harris’ Sookie Stackhouse novels, True Blood thrills because of its equal blend in each episode of erotica, humor, tragedy, mystery, and fantasy.
Set in a rural, swampy Louisiana parrish, the show centers around Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and her clan, sweet grandmother Adele (Lois Smith) and air-headed brother Jason (Ryan Kwanten). Illicit love is spawned early on, when Sookie saves vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) from having his blood stolen in the parking lot of Merlotte’s diner, owned by Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) who completes what will form a complex love triangle. As tensions between Sookie’s suitors loosen or tighten, many side plots, such as her African American best friend Tara’s (Rutina Wesley) struggle with an alcoholic, Bible-thumping mother and her brother’s dangerous crush on drug addicted hippie, Amy Burley (Lizzy Caplan), keep one wondering who will succeed in this podunk place. The main tension throughout, however, is a race war waged between vampires and humans. As murders of “fang bangers” occur (human girls who let vampires bite them) and dumb policeman Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) fails to find clues, one sees the metaphorical implications of vampirism and feels deeper resonance with what can be a downright trashy show. Gossip galore, especially about what kinds of babies interbreeding will produce, is rampant. One of the funniest characters is Tara’s flamboyant cousin, Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis), who deals drugs, works as a fry cook, and services the local white politicians, while making sure he’s always up in everyone’s business.
What makes True Blood smarter than pure soap opera is the parallels it draws between its monster mash and actual, familiar societal problems. Sookie and her friends watch the news, where Evangelicals bash vampires and prohibit mixed marriage, and everyone is addicted to V, a.k.a vampire blood, that effects like psychedelic heroin. Even its gore reflects a mix of serious and silly, as vampires explode into red, sticky goop. Though it may not be attempting to qualify for the best vampire footage ever shot, True Blood is as addictive as that substance the town’s youth obsesses over, which is a metaphor in itself."
