With Platinum Dunes' FRIDAY THE 13TH reboot hitting DVD tomorrow (read our new interview with Derek Mears here), details are starting to emerge regarding a possible sequel. While in Chicago for A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET set visit last week, Daniel Fienberg of HitFix got some details on a potentially blustery installment to the F13 series.

Getting his start in the 1995 Robert Kurtzman film THE DEMOLITIONIST, Derek Mears has steadily built a solid career as an in-demand stunt performer, and big screen baddie. Earlier this year, Mears stepped into one of the most iconic roles in horror cinema as the latest man behind the famous Hockey mask of Crystal Lake's most deadly resident.

As the new Jason Voorhees, Mears slashed his way through multiplexes this spring, and will soon enter your home as FRIDAY THE 13TH arrives on DVD and Blu-ray next Tuesday. FANGORIA caught up with the actor this week to talk the past, present, and future, for a man that went from Horror Fan to Horror Icon.

Bloody-Disgusting just snagged a few images from the deleted scenes that will appear on the upcoming DVD release of the FRIDAY THE 13TH reboot. Little Jason Voorhees popped up in a blink-and-you'll miss him moment, but the "Extended Killer Cut" will feature more of the little monster played by Caleb Gus.

friday09dvdfirstnewsthumb The trades have announced the details of Warner Home Video’s disc releases of this year’s FRIDAY THE 13TH remake, and provided a first glimpse at the cover art. A theatrical-edition DVD, a “Killer Cut” DVD and a Blu-ray of the new Jason adventure, directed by Marcus Nispel and starring Jared Padalecki and Danielle Panabaker, will all be released June 16.
